Resting on the Tide

‘Resting on the Tide’ draws inspiration from many walks along the winding creeks of the Helford River here in Cornwall, capturing an old, weathered boat resting on the tideline. This piece took significantly longer to complete than usual, reworked dozens of times through layering, cutting, stitching, sanding and rebuilding.

Though the process was challenging, each mark and layer adds a rich, textured history to the surface, mirroring the aged, weathered boat at the heart of the painting.
