Praa Sands Shorebreak
Powerful waves often break very close to the shore here at Praa Sands. I love the movement and colour of this work of art, capturing the beauty of our beach. The curl of the wave and the light and colour are what for me make this a great seascape painting. There is something about waves breaking on the shore that …
First Light
This painting is of the sun rising over Rinsey Head early one morning. Such a special moment on my own down on the rocks at the far western end of the beach. Love it. It is at times like this that I am so inspired to paint by my surroundings here in West Cornwall, such beauty, and it changes everyday. Being …
Changing Glory
Sun rising over Rinsey, I love it. Contrasting the stormy sea with the tranquil rock pool in the foreground, I definitely want to explore this more in my work. Using a more muddy palette as well which gives a great natural feel to the colours.
In to the Light
Winter light illuminates the waves as they roll in to the shore, Praa Sands. There is a warmth and a feeling of hope as the suns rays play upon the ever moving turbulent water, stirred up by the south west wind.
Autumn Light
Autumn light on the sea at Poldu Cove on the Lizard Peninsular, one of my favourite beaches. Spectacular seas here in the winter as it is exposed to the full force of any southerly swell.
Kennack Sands
Stunning large seascape painting, oil on canvas, capturing one of my favourite places, Kennack Sands. This piece will be surely be the centrepiece to any room, as you step in to the emotion of the scene and feel the sea breeze on your face. A classic timeless painting.
Late September
View from the artist’s studio looking across the beach, Praa Sands, West Cornwall. The weather is changing with freshening winds and the last of the summer swimmers battle with the force of the approaching autumn swells.
From The Cliff
From Thorny Cliff, along the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula, between the old fishing village of Cadgwith and Kennack Bay. Rolling waves, each one awaiting its turn, make sport as they powerfully crash over the ancient rocks beneath us, while summer sunlight dances upon the water.
Evening Tide
Evening Tide, and the rhythmic sound of breaking waves over the moving sand and shingle of Loe Bar. There is something mysteriously beautiful and evocative as the sun’s diminishing rays descend through the clouds and play upon the water,
